From the Chairman

Posted on 23/04/2013 in News

Welcome to the 2013 cricket season; after a challenging 2012, even though we face many challenges this year, 2013 will hopefully be a better year for the Club.

Many of you will have seen elsewhere that Senior outdoor practices started at Castle Rushen High School on Thursday 11th April in the rain.

Junior practices start this Thursday (25th April) and the timings are as follows:

U11 & U14           18:00-19:00

U17 & Senior      19:00-21:00

On the assumption that virtually all our potential U9 players are participating in the Manx Youth Games, U9 practices are planned to start after Manx Youth Games on Thursday 23rd May; however if any U9’s turn up before then they will be catered for.

On the Youth side one piece of good news, from our point of view, is that the Youth Teams are now being run again totally by the Club and not by the IOM CA; this we feel is much better as our younger members will be playing for Castletown CC and not the South.

At the AGM it was suggested that we may to look at increasing subscriptions for 2013, HOWEVER I am pleased to tell you that after a review the committee has concluded that this is not necessary.

What is necessary is that we collect from everyone, as it is very unfair when some fail to pay for whatever reason.

The responsibility for collection will not be with the Adult Team Captains or with the Coaches; the responsibility is with you to pay for yourself or your children and I know that I can count on you to do that.

No Pay = No Play
