Castletown Cricket Club History

266 run Manx cricket record 1st wicket partnership (as far as can be found in the records)

Dave Griffiths (95) and Daniel Heginbotham (163 n.o.) put on 266 for the 1st wicket, almost certainly a Club & Island record on 15th June 2008 when Castletown B played Vagabonds. On 25th May 08, Daniel Heginbotham hit 106 n.o.against Cronkbourne.
Dave Griffiths has the distinction of being the only Castletown B batsman out this season in Karran 2 and he has been out twice.

Sam Walker again bowled his leg spin very well and bowled in tandem with leg spinner Luca Ciappelli and slow left armer Dave Griffiths.
Both Sam Walker & Luca Ciapelli are U15 Leg Spinners; and whilst Sam's talents are well known, Luca continues to show great promise and was on a hat trick.

Sam Taylor, U15 wicketkeeper, again kept well and got 2 stumpings.

In 1979, Castletown won the Tinker Cup, when in Forrester Division 2.

The story is that Castletown did not loose a match all season, but due to a communication error about a re-arranged match they were docked 5 points and not promoted to Forrester Division 1.

No side playing in Forrester Division 2 had won the Tinker Cup before, nor has any side since.
